Synopsis: For more than five decades F. T. Farrell has been making major scientific contributions in both the areas of topology and differential geometry.
In his honor, the international conference at TSIMF plans to highlight recent advances in differential geometry and topology relating to his manifold achievements. The central topic will be topology and geometry of higher dimensional manifolds. One of the main conjectures in the area is Farrell-Jones conjecture, which generalizes both Borel and Novikov conjectures. The conference will serve as a forum to foster communication between experts and early career researchers from China and abroad and to identify new directions for future work.
Organizers: Prof. Andrey Gogolyev (Ohio State), Prof. Yi Jiang (Tsinghua), Prof. Wilderich Tuschman (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology)
