会议预告:非线性问题:数值与应用研讨会

2020年1月12日-16日, 由清华大学数学系吴昊教授、黄忠亿教授和上海交通大学自然科学研究所金石教授一起组织的非线性问题:数值与应用研讨会 (Nonlinear Problems Numerics and Applications)将在论坛举行,会议有47位来自中国、法国的高等院校或研究机构的师生参加。会议期间就非线性问题:数值与应用等问题展开研讨,届时将举行33场相关学术报告。


会议提要/Synopsis

The nonlinear problem is an important and interesting topic in many research fields. For example, the nonlinear optics model can more accurately describe the light propagation at very high intensities, such as laser; the nonlinear Schrödinger equation is widely considered in condensed matter physics, semiconductor industry and nano-technology; in kinetic theory, the Boltzmann equation and the moment closure systems are both nonlinear models. The main purpose of this workshop is to bring together people working in the nonlinear modeling and computations to exchange their ideas, communicate the latest research results and develop further collaborations. We plan to invite about 20-30 overseas participants (from outside mainland China) to attend this workshop. This could be an excellent opportunity for Chinese mathematicians to build connections with oversea participants. For young scientists, we will encourage them to develop collaborations with the top experts in this field. We also hope new problems can be found out during the workshop. Topics include but are not limited to the following areas.Kinetic theory and fluid dynamics Nonlinear optics and nonlinear Schrödinger equation Numerical method for nonlinear equations
